Rotating torque sensor

Rotating torque sensors measure the torque by being coupled between an object and the object to which they transmit the torque. A shaft covered with strain gauges rotates in the torque sensor. These strain gauges measure the torque transmitted through the shaft.

How our rotating torque sensors work

Our high-precision rotating torque sensors measure the torque acting on them reliably and accurately. This is achieved by the deformation of an elastic element that is integrated into the sensor. The deformation is recorded using strain gauges and converted into an electrical signal. This signal is analysed to determine precise torque values and provide you with accurate measurement data.

Performance characteristics

  • The nominal torques of our sensors range from 5 Nm to 100 Nm.
  • The active output is ±5 V or ±10 V and is available on request.
  • The speed output can reach up to 10,000 revolutions per minute.

Advantages

  • The non-contact transmission of measured values enables precise and reliable results.
  • Our sensors are characterised by a very short axial length.
  • They are suitable for both fixed and flying sensor installation.
  • A very good price-performance ratio rounds off our range.
