Reed sensor

Reed sensors are used in tankers and pellet lorries, among other things. These sensors, which we develop and produce, are characterised by their reliability and versatility. Below you will find an overview of the performance features and areas of application of our reed sensors:

Performance features:

  • Namur version: Our reed sensors comply with the Namur standard, which ensures a high level of compatibility and safety.
  • Operating temperature: They are designed for a wide temperature range from -40 °C to +60 °C, which allows them to be used under extreme conditions.
  • Connection cable: The sensors are equipped with a 2 × 0.25 mm² PUR-shielded connection cable, which ensures reliable signal transmission.
  • Protection class: With protection class IP 67, the sensors are dust-tight and protected against temporary immersion.
  • Switching distance: A switching distance of 10 mm enables precise detection of objects.

Areas of application:

  • Proximity switches: Our reed sensors are used as proximity switches to monitor the position of moving parts.
  • Anti-theft protection: They also serve as anti-theft protection by detecting unauthorised opening of flaps or doors.

Functionality:

Namur reed sensors are used in tankers, for example, as position or proximity sensors for monitoring closures, flaps or doors. As 2-wire sensors, they recognise whether an object is present or missing by switching between two different current levels in accordance with the EN 60947-5-6 standard.

These features make our reed sensors an ideal solution for applications in harsh environments, such as those found in tankers and pellet lorries. They offer high reliability and accuracy for monitoring and securing vehicle components.
