Ring load cells are compact force transducers designed to measure compressive forces. Their ring-shaped design, with a central force application point, allows for space-saving integration between mechanical components.
Threads on the top and bottom facilitate mounting and ensure that the force to be measured is applied in a defined manner. This design is therefore particularly suitable for applications with limited installation space and axial compressive loads.
Ring load cells are suitable for monitoring compressive forces on machine components, support points and levers. Other applications include testing and weighing systems, as well as conveyor and lift technology.
The compressive force to be measured is applied via the top and bottom surfaces of the ring load cell. The threads on both sides enable a secure connection to the adjacent structural elements and support a defined axial load.
Thanks to its compact design, the sensor can also be used in applications where there is limited space available for elongated load cells.
The DMS sensors are housed in a protected measuring chamber. The application chamber is encapsulated in a highly elastic compound, thereby protecting it against mechanical and chemical influences.
The bridge balance is calibrated to approximately ±0.01 mV/V in an unloaded state.
The ring-type load cell can be connected directly to a signal conditioning amplifier. The cable shield, which is electrically isolated from the sensor body, helps to ensure low-interference transmission of the measurement signal.
