Bending beams are force transducers that measure forces via the resulting deflection of the sensor body. Their slender design is particularly suitable for measurement tasks on machine parts and levers where the force is not to be measured directly via an axial load.
Depending on the design, bending beams can be used for both static and dynamic measurements.

The slim design of the bending beam allows it to be installed even where space is limited. The force can be applied in such a way that the bending occurring at the sensor body is accurately detected.
Its low sensitivity to eccentrically applied forces makes it easier to use in a variety of mechanical installation scenarios.
The split strain gauge full-bridge circuit measures the deformation of the sensor body caused by the applied bending force. The strain gauges are housed in a protected application chamber filled with a highly elastic compound.
The bridge balance is calibrated to approximately ±0.01 mV/V in the unloaded state.
The measurement signal from the bending beam can be adjusted to the signal level required for the application using a suitable amplifier. The shield of the supply cable is electrically isolated from the surface of the load cell.
