A force sensor consists of a strain gauge that is bonded to a metal body. This strain gauge consists of a thin metal strip that is applied to a plastic film. When a force is applied to the metal body, the strain gauge is stretched or compressed, which changes the electrical resistance of the metal strip. This change in resistance is recorded by a measuring amplifier and converted into an electrical voltage.
With our sensors, we measure the deformations caused by compression, tension, bending, elongation and shear. Depending on the measuring task and local conditions, different designs are available.
