Load Limitation

Load monitoring is designed to monitor changing forces and safely shut down cranes or hoists when an overload is detected. Internal monitoring and testing algorithms allow the system to operate in environments where safe shutdown procedures are required in the event of an overload.

Our products offer:    

• Two independent measuring channels that can be used for 1 or 2 load sensors as required.
• Electronics for analyzing the measured values and generating two switch-off paths (safety relays).
• Firmware for analyzing the measured values, the sensor status, automatic checking of the functional elements including the connected sensors and generation of the switching signals.
• Internal operating and display unit for service and commissioning.

The system continuously monitors the measured values supplied by the sensors. Depending on the configuration and firmware version, the loads can be fed individually or in total for further evaluation. The resulting loads are compared with two threshold values, which are set using two trimmer potentiometers in the electronics section. The result of the comparison is displayed externally via two switch-off paths. The firmware also interrupts the switch-off paths in the event of device and sensor faults.

Optional extensions include:

• An external unit for displaying the operating parameters.
• An RS232 interface for testing and commissioning functions and for firmware updates via a PC.
• A combined USB and SD card interface for communication tasks and for storing measured values on an SD card.
• A Bluetooth communication tool for networking several load monitoring systems and for creating load summations across an entire structure.
